About John Brown University

John Brown University (JBU) is a private Christian university in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, United States. Founded in 1919, JBU enrolls approximately 2,250 students from over 30 states and 40 countries across its traditional undergraduate, graduate, online, and concurrent education programs. JBU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and competes athletically in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The 200-acre (0.81 km2) main campus in northwest Arkansas has been the home of the university since its founding in 1919. As of the 2025–26 academic year, JBU has around 1,400 traditional undergraduate students on campus, with the majority living in university housing. In addition, the university operates a location in Little Rock, Arkansas, which offers graduate counseling programs.
