College Rankings

Explore the best colleges across value, selectivity, outcomes and more — ranked using official data from the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard.

Our methodology

Every ranking on this site is built from official, publicly reported data in the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard. We don't accept payment for placement and we don't use subjective opinion — each list is a transparent sort on a single published metric, so you can see exactly why a school ranks where it does. Colleges that don't report the metric behind a given list are left out of that list rather than guessed at.

Best Value Colleges

Ranked by a value score — median earnings 10 years after entry divided by the average annual net price. It rewards colleges that pair strong outcomes with low cost, so a school doesn't have to be the most expensive to rank well. Bachelor's-granting schools with both figures reported.

Highest Earning Graduates

Ranked by median earnings of students 10 years after they first enrolled, highest first. Bachelor's-granting schools.

Most Selective Colleges

Ranked by overall undergraduate admission rate, lowest first. Bachelor's-granting schools that report an admission rate.

Best Graduation Rates

Ranked by the share of students who complete their degree within 150% of normal time (six years for a four-year degree), highest first. Bachelor's-granting schools.

Most Affordable Colleges

Ranked by average annual net price — total cost minus the average grant and scholarship aid — lowest first. Bachelor's-granting schools.

Top Public Universities

Public bachelor's-granting universities ranked by median earnings 10 years after entry, highest first.

Top Private Universities

Private nonprofit bachelor's-granting universities ranked by median earnings 10 years after entry, highest first.

Top Community Colleges

Associate's-granting (two-year) colleges ranked by median earnings 10 years after entry, highest first.
